Here we go again! We're in for a great year of hashing, in which Samford Hash will turn 33 years old, and in which a bunch of us will be heading off for another fun time at Interhash!
We wrapped up the year with a traditional snag and salad feast at one of our traditional venues, after completing a traditional Kedron Brook circuit. Many thanks to our hares, Le W*nk and Lax! And thanks to birthday girl Saucy Sous for the cake! Here are a few shots of the occasion, courtesy of Snappy and Saucy Sous:
At this time each year we look back at some of the highlights of the 12 months gone by. This year these included:
- the best run of 2023 (up to that point) and the most philosophical blog post ever
- our last run from the Ferny Grove Sports Club
- a Hash weekend away at Noosa Habitat
- a St Pat's run featuring home-brewed stout
- our first (Anzac Day) run from the Gaythorne RSL
- Some B-breaker training for the runners
- French cliches for Bastille Day
- The 2023 Tight Jocks Award ceremony
- The transformation of Brisbane's Worst Park
- the 2023 Red Dress run
- a gathering of about 40 of us at the Hash Christmas party
And if you look back over the archives, you'll see that we ran and walked all over the wider Samford valley area, and ventured out to Dayboro, to Sandgate, to Mt Coot-tha, to Mitchy, to Mt. Nebo...and elsewhere, revisiting a lot of our old haunts and exploring new ones. Wonder what's in store for 2024? Well, Queenstown for one....
