Grand designs Cedar Creek

There were some impressive constructions to admire on this Sunday's walk and run. Part way along the creek was a new million-dollar horse arena that could host equestrian events at the 2032 Olympics. And then a little further on was a turkey nest that Kevin McCloud might well consider filming....

There was also an innovative goat bed:

and, for those who took an alternative route along Woods Road, a converted church painted to match the jacarandas:

It's been a dry year, and the creek is starting to retreat into a series of pools. Those who diverted a little to look at them were rewarded with some scenic views and the occasional industrial-archaeological find:

And talking of pools, the appeal for people to car-pool up the hares' driveway was so successful that there were plenty of spare car spaces left up by the house. It's hard to get it right!

Here are some more shots of the chalk talk and the  walk(s), courtesy of Saucy Sous and Cash Converta:

And here are some people replenishing their bodily fluids and stuffing their faces:

Now that mince pies have appeared in the supermarkets, it was clearly time to make decisions re the Hash Christmas party, and we did this in the circle. The party will be on Saturday 16th December at Saucy Sous and Dumbbell's place - and they have lots of events planned besides chucking Le W*nk into the pool. This date also means that Hopalong will be able to join us with lots of news from the Old Country, and we're looking forward to that.

Elsewhere in the world, Bigtop has been visiting Superhacker and Co. in the said Old Country and enjoying an English summer. Malpractice is clearly still a dab hand with the punt pole:

Bunyaville Bush Bash

The hardest navigational feat for hashers on Sunday was finding the way to the venue at "Fredrickson Park" (aka Alfredson Park). After that, the well-marked trail was easy to follow. It must have been, because the navigationally-challenged runners only went off trail twice....As our hare Scratchit promised, there were a few "undulations" along the circuit. And congrats to our hares for organising some very pleasant weather conditions for a run/walk that featured lots of variety and many scenic bits.

Back home, we were treated to some very tasty curries and samosas, followed by bread and butter pudding! Many thanks to our hares!

Here are some of Saucy Sous and Snappy's shots from the walk:

A couple of runners, on the right trail at last:

And back home at the park:

Miss Demeanour and Shockjock must have been very sorry to have missed this meet - look at some of what they are having to put up with in Bali:

And Lax, Le W*nk and Co. were off celebrating Prattle's 19th birthday. Here's one of those pictures that are worth a thousand words:

Haughty and Culture had just returned from the Land of the Rising Sun, where they had been doing a bit of running amid the tea fields around Wazuka

and a bit of walking, for example around Mt. Kasagi:

Culture had also shown off her terpsichorean talent at the local Obon festival:

Wedded bliss

Last Sunday we spent a blissfull hour or so traipsing through the Clear Mountain Conservation Park. We encountered some clever bush art and a lot of colourful beehives.

Back at the circle, Charcoal and Strine had prepared food for a whole regiment. The spaghetti marinara was one of the highlights (for the carnivores).

During the week, our hares celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. What an achievment - 56 years of wedded bliss! We celebrated this momentous occasion by giving them a champagne/méthode champenoise down-down.

Here are some shots from Snappy and Miss Demeanour
