Shimmering sunset

Floater's skills as a photographer captured the beauty of the scene as the sun sank over Lake Kurwongbah, and people recounted their aquatic adventures on that stretch of water. Upstanding, for example, caught his one and only bass there - from his paddleboard - and almost got run over by eight rowers in a racing shell as he tried to catch another.

For our hares, the most horrific thing about this Halloween run was the overgrowth and closed-off access to the lake shores, which made setting a trail very difficult. It was a nice spot for sundowners and chili, though. Thanks, hares!

Some mothers and daughters: it's really scary to think how much these young ladies have grown up since their first run with Samford Hash a decade or so ago...good grief! They're both driving!

We celebrated the fact that Squelch has reached retirement age, despite his youthful appearance. That is, he's spent 10 years in the Army, which means he can now leave at any time without being dishonourably discharged.

Shaggy provided a celebratory cake decorated with cannonballs, bullets and ambiguous-looking body parts. There's not much left to see in this shot, but you might be able to make out some of the ambiguity:

There's another big milestone coming up next weekend, as Floater celebrates her half century - something that's again hard to believe. Her big bash is on Saturday evening in Arana Hills - and all Samford Hash regulars should have received an invite....

Congratulations to Shockjock on winning a First for his Brown Ale in the National Homebrew Competition! The rumour is that one day he might allow some of us to taste it!

Finally, as we hurtle towards the end of the year and your calendar fills up, make sure that you've reserved Friday December 13th for Hash Christmas in Dayboro....More details to come as we get closer to the date.
