"What do you think, Beaufort? 6 or 7?"

There was at least a stiff breeze blowing at Shorncliffe this last Sunday. Indeed, by applying the criterion "inconvenience felt when walking against the wind" we might come to the conclusion that it was actually a "Near Gale" (Wind Force 7) on the Beaufort Scale. What do you think?

Both runners and walkers completed pleasant circuits that took them inland between the heritage homes of the area and away from the whitecaps. And we then adjourned to a more sheltered spot to replenish our precious bodily fluids and stuff our faces. Many thanks to our hares Miss Behavin' and Budgie!

Eight of our regulars were away fossicking in the gemfields, so it was good to see a pretty substantial turn-up of both humans and canines.

Jamesbondage, the Hash Jeweler, had been busy, and recently-named Underpass received her highly valuable Hash necklace. Wonder if his future efforts will be decorated with the sapphires he's currently collecting in Rubyvale?


And it appears that there are things to do in Rubyvale apart from searching for sapphires:




This coming Sunday we'll be celebrating our 2019 Halloween Run, so please throw off your normal disguises and come as the Real You. You'll find reminders of some previous events here, here and here. And DON"T FORGET: from this Sunday we move to our summer start time of 5 pm!
