Courts and balls

It seems only yesterday...but it was actually five years ago that we celebrated Superhacker's birthday at UQ with a wander under the jacarandas, a traditional circuit of the Great Court, and a gathering between the tennis courts. You'll find some happy reminders of that occasion here - and I urge you to have a look at them. None of us looks a day older...honestly!

When this old blogger was an undergraduate, the appearance of the first jacaranda blooms was the signal that it was time to start studying seriously for end-of-year exams. Presumably this still holds, which is why there were so many students playing tennis and basketball and jogging and snogging and otherwise avoiding study. It was not easy finding a car park and some people probably completed a 5 km walk or jog just getting to the start....

Anyway, Superhacker and Hopalong treated us to a very pleasant tour of the sandstone campus on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We once again raced around the Great Court and we once again took over centre court for curry and cake. Many thanks, hares - and happy birthday, Superhacker!

We were joined by Plod for the first time, and hope to see him again:

Mile High and Hugandkiss have sent us a pictorial puzzle from Iceland: do you recognise any Samford hashers among these mythic and epic figures?

And don't forget that we move to a 5 pm start from our Halloween Run on 27th October.
