University challenge 2020

Ah, memories! when you look back over the archives you find that we have run and walked at UQ so many times over the past decade that even those who were never students there will have chalked up some memories - including memories of the traditional Circuit of the Great Court. Jacarandas have featured frequently in our campus excursions, as have photo bombings of weddings and graduations. And who could forget the storm that drenched us back in 2011? It was at UQ in 2013 that a couple of our members discovered that they had both been graduate students at Notre Dame in Indiana - a university which has been in the news recently for supplying a certain candidate for the US Supreme Court....

We had superb weather for this Sunday's walk and run around the campus, and we were far from being the only people out enjoying the spectacle of the jacarandas. The trail was very well marked (congrats to all three of our hares) and the new playground made a great venue for the on, on. Excellent tucker, too - many thanks, hares!

The Great Court - almost as full of memories for Budgie (and some others) as the Regatta Hotel...
