Ahhh! Dusk over Dayboro...
Once upon a time, on a beautiful winter afternoon in Dayboro, our hares took us on a fascinating tour of that bustling metropolis. We passed the US Embassy, the South Pacific Museum of Antiquities, the International Headquarters of the IOC, the World Centre for Scientology Research...and some nice houses listed for sale by that prestigious firm, Fox and Co. It was a very enjoyable flattish run, offering some great views over the valley in the late afternoon sunlight and featuring kilometre markings to cheer the weary....
Banger - true to his name - followed up the run with some special sausages from the famous Dayboro sausage specialist, while Make an Offer laid on lashings of salad. Vast piles of food vanished down the gullets of the ravening hordes (actually, there were only a couple of dozen of us, so we must each have eaten a lot!) Many thanks to our hares!
Here's a thought: 8 km in under an hour - the runners could have completed the London marathon course in, say, 5.25 hours. That's only 3 and a bit hours behind the leaders...perhaps if we really started training we could make a show at Rio in 4 years time. Wadya think?
Next run details
When: Sunday 19th August, 4 pm
Where: Ironbark Gully picnic area (it's ages since we ran/walked from there)
Hares: M. Promptu will set the run; catering by Potluck (please bring something to share).
On, on!
