Vroom...vroom. VROOM!

Sunday afternoon was really, really hot. But nothing could be hotter than Le W*nk's shiny brand-new red V8 plaything. He tried to get someone to stay back and guard it while he went for a run, but there were no takers....

I'm not sure if we got a count, but there were a lot of us there. It was great to welcome a visitor (and former colleague of Skippy) - and also to welcome Floater into the running group for the first time in quite a while. Our hares took us on a scenic circuit which included some quiet bitumen stretches and also the unmade section of Day's Road - somewhere we haven't been since...well, a while ago.

Back at the hares' we enjoyed the sort of magnificent meal that Saucy Sous is famous for, and it was getting pretty late before the last of the stragglers were escorted off the premises. Many thanks to our hares - a thoroughly enjoyable trail, and a great meal!

Here are some of Snappy's shots. Firstly, the gathering:

Four runners again tackled the Dayboro Beer Mile on Thursday, with the support of a vocal and much-appreciated cheer squad. We scored first and third place in the "compliant" class of this prestigious competition hosted by the Dayboro Lions Club. Runners (and beers) at the start:

The wonderful post-race breakfast, hosted by Banger and Make an Offer - eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms...and even black pudding! Thanks!

Next Sunday is special for a couple of reasons - firstly, Cadbury and Shaggy will be visiting from Hervey Bay and joining us to help celebrate her Big Birthday. And secondly, we'll be eating at Little Nyonya Kitchen at the Ferny Grove Sports Club for the last time. They're moving on, and we're lucky that Idle Vice has been able to book us in for their final evening....

Next run/walk details

When: Sunday 5th February, 5 pm

Where: Ferny Grove Sports Club, Tramway St, Ferny Grove.

Hares: Leave Pass will set the trail. Little Nyonya will do the catering.

On, on!
