Good to see you, Superhacker!

Superhacker joined us (in a virtual way) this last Sunday, and Culture's phone was passed around the group in the circle so everyone could say hello. She was looking very well - as was Teddy. And here are some more jacaranda pictures for her enjoyment:

The trail took the walkers on a pleasant and mostly shady route along and across the South Pine. There was heaps of flour, so no excuse for Floater, Leave Pass and Culture who missed a vital turn and were well on their way to Samford Skies when they were called back. Another bunch of walkers thought (wrongly) that they might find a short cut that didn't involve crossing the creek for a second time....The runners added a loop further upstream, and another a little closer to home.

Back at Undambi, Haughty's kerosene pressure lantern came in for some ribbing, but if it was good enough for his great-grandfather it was good enough for him. A meal of chili and salad was followed by chocolates, and there wasn't much in the way of leftovers. We obviously hadn't scared off our Seattle visitor Queen last week and he joined us once more. Here are some pics from the meet, mostly courtesy of Snappy:

There were down, downs for birthday girl Skippy, and for the three who lost the (obvious) trail:

Jamesbondage, the Hash jeweler, had been hard at work producing a name necklace for Sweet and Sour, and it was presented during the circle:

While you're down there....

Kermit and Sweet and Sour have published their late father's novel Fragrant Harbour (not to be confused with a novel bearing the same title by John Lanchester). According to some hashers who have read it, it is a compelling, immensely readable, "unputdownable" story, which draws on the author's experiences as a forensic pathologist in Hong Kong at the time of the Cultural Revolution.

It would obviously make a great Christmas gift for any reader - and you can buy it directly from Kermit ($25), or online from here.

Our hares next week are promising us a Wilston tour which includes yet more hoarders' houses. I'm looking forward to seeing the one where the grass is overgrowing the collection of mowers....

And don't forget the Red Dress Run on the 28th!

Next run/walk details

When: Sunday 20th November, 5 pm
