Rain, rain, rain - sun???

A little watery sunshine finally broke through after a wet, wet week (447mm in three days at Upper Cedar Creek, for example). And the rain fortunately held off as live hare Leave Pass led a very small group of 7 hashers around the soggy hills of Upper Kedron. A small group was what we'd always expected...a number of people are away and some are involved in theatrical endeavours. But in addition to this we now have a rolling contingent of hashers who have registered positive Covid-19 tests and are in isolation....

Apparently there had been some rugby played over the weekend. Le W*nk was eager to discuss this; Budgie rather more reluctant for some reason. BYO food and drink arrangements meant that while Idle Vice and Upstanding enjoyed some tasty vegetarian rolls the others had to make do with what Le W*nk called "real food". And here are the only two photos from the occasion - Idle Vice's portrait of Gunther and friend, and the arty shot she has entitled "Hashers leaving":

Many thanks to Leave Pass for setting the trail! We're expecting a small group next week as well.

Finally, here's the latest from Superhacker, Hopalong and Co. in the UK: "I am delighted that Idle Vice received the coveted Mother Superior award. We have settled pretty well back into Cambridgeshire life. It is all helped by the arrival of Spring. (I have to admit, the temperatures are really more like Brisbane Winter, but thankfully the evenings are light.)

The Hop-Hacker family are gearing up for the wedding of the century - that of Superhacker's sister Jennie. Superhacker may be ever so slightly regretting offering to do the flowers and be a bridesmaid as well. It turns out that some things, like catering and flowers, have to be left to the last minute, which does raise the stress levels a bit.

B-flat and Malpractice are savouring the occasion, but also occasionally wincing at the eye-watering expense of some of the wedding paraphernalia. It seems things have changed quite a bit on the wedding planning front since the olden days when they got spliced at the ages of 21 and 23 and things were in some ways simpler."

We wish the whole family all the best on the occasion. Keep calm and carry on.
