We'd BYOed our food and drink as agreed, but no-one had spared a thought for the Warner Lakes ducks and turtles. They're clearly used to being fed from the viewing platforms around the lake and found it hard to believe - as they showed off their beak-snapping and doggy-paddling tricks - that their performance didn't merit a reward. They eventually gave up on us and headed off in disgust:
After a full house last week for Superhacker's farewell, it was a more select group who gathered at Warner on Sunday. And what a great afternoon it was for a walk or run around the area! The lake was sparkling, its surrounds a brilliant green, the sky a pellucid (good word, that) blue, and the temperature as temperate as could be. Many thanks to Payback for setting the trail!
Back at the shelter we shared travel yarns and jokes, but Covid-safely didn't share drinks or eats:
And in discussion at the circle we resolved to continue the BYO drinks and eats arrangements for the moment. So hares will set a trail, but will not be providing a meal; and for the moment we will continue to meet in parks (or controlled venues).
Next run/walk details
When: Sunday 27th February, 5 pm
Where: Dayboro - opposite Dayboro IGA. A map!
Hares: Banger and Make an Offer will mark the trail. Please BYO drinks and eats. We strongly suggest you bring a chair as well.
On, on!
