Blazing braziers and birthday cakes (and sunsets, too)

On yet another perfect afternoon in Dayboro our hares dished up a walk and run that took us up a hill (surprise, surprise) and along the "old cream truck" track. The rural views over the valleys and hills were - as always - charming. And the runners added an interesting diversion down to a beautiful swimming hole that's been in the news recently. Were they captured on Federal Police cameras as they did so?

Back at the hares' hilltop we enjoyed a magnificent sunset, a welcome blaze, some beaut chili, and some apple and rhubarb crumble...yum! Many thanks to Banger and Make an Offer for an thoroughly enjoyable trail and a classy meal!

Both Dynamite and Hot Stuff had birthdays this week, and celebrated the occasion with an appropriately sparkling and explosive cake. Congratulations, boys, and thanks to your mum, too!

We'd celebrated another birthday with a cake and a blaze the evening before, as Scratchit turned into a wise and thoroughly mature 65-year-old retiree. What a great selection of home brews he provided - all the way from a non-alcoholic ginger beer to a 7% black IPA! Congratulations and thanks to him and Floater! (Some pics may follow when we get some....)

We have some virgin hares as our hosts next week!
