Root children? Isn't that illegal?

Here's a sign noticed on a run through Samford this last week:

Root children? Surely that's illegal!

For old times' sake, Superhacker and Hopalong hosted the meal and circle inside their house. It recalled that memorable occasion when we fetched up there like drowned rats, saturated all their towels, and (in some cases) changed into Superhacker's pyjamas.

Here's part of the crowd, occupying all available spaces.

According to Superhacker, she's identifying strongly with the old lady in this song (not that she's at all old):

And if she's the old lady, then who are we?

Downpours had obliterated the flour and chalk from sections of the run/walk, but we managed fine - in some cases finding ourselves running the trail in reverse. Never mind. This was the area where Darcy disappeared a few years back. This time he stayed on the lead....

There was a down, down for Miss Demeanour for stealing other people's drinks (she was a serial offender this week) and another for Huckleberry for turning 15 (and, no, his was not alcoholic):

Many thanks to our hares for some great hospitality (and great chili, too!)

And we really should record Le W*nk's joke for posterity:
Q: What do the Indian Ocean and the Pacific say to one another where they meet?
A: Nothing. They just wave.

Next week we'll be returning to the same general area, since some of our members have commitments nearby. It'll be a M. Promptu/ Potluck affair, so please bring something to share. And let's hope that Council has fixed the toilets in the park!

Next run details
When: Sunday 1st March, 5 pm
Where: Robertson Park, corner Lambert Road and Indooroopilly Road, Taringa. Here's a map!
Hares: M. Promptu will set the run; Potluck will cater (please bring something to share)

On, on!
