Champion camp chow

We've had some top meals on our weekends away, but Saturday night's effort at Jimna ranked right up there. A total of seven camp ovens - plus a couple of monster saucepans - were called into service to produce a succulent meal of roast beef, roast lamb, roast pork, roast spuds, roast pumpkin, beans, broccoli, sprouts and gravy (we won't mention the carrots....) And all this was preceded by Cobb oven scones with jam and cream, pate, cheeses and exploding chestnuts - and followed up by rice pudding and lemon cream trifle and chocolates. Everything was of course washed down with sundry spiritous liquors - taken strictly for medicinal purposes, to keep out the cold.

We did a bit of walking too...

Nipliquor took his crutches out for their final run before his cast comes off on Tbursday:

And Shockjock gave Miss Demeanour a suck of his nipple:

And the serious business of dinner preparation:

...which was watched closely by some of the locals:

As we know, people are not wearing enough hats:

So we tried to do our bit for hat-wearing through the Hat Competition:

And here's part of the circle around the camp fire:

All in all - a great weekend. Thanks to everyone for their company and their contributions!
