Hard as ever

The runners found it as hard as ever to keep pace with Hardcore on our trail from Brighton to Sandgate and back. What a good runner she is! The walkers took in the sea air along the same sort of route. A fine afternoon had brought out a lot of other people for a seaside stroll, and dodging kids on bikes was a constant hazard. Here are some of those who gathered on the foreshore at the start:

And here are some of those who cooled off with a dip in the briny afterwards:

Walkers en route:

We then had a chance to check out Bigtop's new seaside cottage. She'd been very busy with landscaping - all her own work:

Payback had to appreciate the tactile qualities of the sculpture:

And here are some of the crew in the backyard, where we enjoyed some scrumptious nosh. Many, many thanks to our hares for a scenic and very enjoyable afternoon! And congratulations on the new home!

Many thanks also to Snappy for living up to her name and supplying many of the pics in this post!

Finally, here's a clipping from The Village Pump, showing Nipliquor out on the water:

Reno run

Almost 40 of us (including long-lost nomads Dollybird and Slasher) turned up to admire our hares' renovations on Sunday. The interior of their place had been transformed by a company called Finer Finishers, while the renovated front yard and boat shed were also looking very shmick.

It was a pleasant afternoon for a creekside excursion in the upper Kedron catchment, and the trail took in a renovated section of walkway as well - where we once had to scramble up a pile of boulders there's now a 4-lane bridge! However several pairs of eyes among the runners were not enough to prevent them losing their way after a very short distance. They took a 2 km bushland diversion before discovering the route again, but found themselves running it in reverse. A backward bunch, it seems....

Here are shots of some of those who enjoyed some really tasty curry and some good company on their return. Our hares Shaggy and Cadbury had had a really full-on weekend, sizzling sausages at Bunnings, and assisting at two SPADEwerx performances, as well as setting and hosting the run. Many, many thanks to them - what troupers they are!

And on trail - a sunset, some walkers, and some flying pigs....
