Over Hill, Over Dale !!

[This week's post has once again been brilliantly penned by Lax. Many thanks and congrats to her!]

We had a challenging wander through the “hills” of Ascot this week.    Our hare Le W*nk showed us some of the views he enjoys whilst working on some of the local sad and unloved houses in downtown Ascot.  While enjoying the views of the Brisbane river and surrounding hills, notes were taken to NEVER book a function on the Island party boat.  The music was so loud 4 kms away !

The views were breathtaking and the houses were perched precariously on the side of the “hills” that were supposed to be avoided this run  (LOL !) We wandered past the Ascot State School and have had early feedback this week that the chalk markings, smiley faces and arrows were frowned upon by certain locals thinking they were directions to the local drug dens!!

The wildlife included lama/alpaca on the estate on Eldernell Terrace which was the home of the Archbishops of the Anglican Church until its sale in 2007 for $11.2 million.

Our start and finish was at the Ascot water tower lookout where we enjoyed Ascot fare comprising an amazing grazing table and our usual liquid refreshments.
