To use the official meteorological term, the last day of 2016 was "bloody hot" - and the first day of 2017 was pretty similar. So congratulations to our hares Bigtop and Urass for getting out there and setting an interesting and winding trail through the burbs. It was quite a revelation to see how many Grand Designs have been built in Stafford Heights and Kedron. And there was a lot more to look at through the shimmering heat haze as well...including the distant city and Fleabite's school. Thanks, hares!
Leave Pass, our hare next Sunday, has proposed a game of Truth or Dare? for the circle. Come prepared to reveal your New Year's Resolutions for 2017 - truthfully, or at least amusingly....
Culture has made a Resolution to stay upright whilst running. She smashed her wrist on the Wednesday run last week and spent 3 nights in the RBWH. For those who may have missed them, a couple of her gruesome pics follow (this is a warning for the squeamish)....
The zig-zag that the triage nurse said "grossed her out" (the point where the bone broke the surface is on the other side)
And 2 muscular doctors applying some tension to straighten things out, while a third stands by with some plaster:
Anyway, Culture now has a cobalt-chromium implant holding her together. She'll have to subtract its weight when she stands on the scales in future.
To conclude: A Happy New Year, everyone! Here's to another full and satisfying year of Samford Hashing!
