Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego...and us

Sunday was the hottest day of the year - in fact, the hottest day in Brisbane for a couple of years. What a silly idea to go for a walk or a run in something like a fiery furnace! Yet there were quite a few of us who turned up in order to do just that....

Our hares had taken account of the conditions and set some shortish trails, mostly in the shade, and through some quite pretty country in the middle of suburbia. It was good to know that although we were in the bush (sort of) we were never very far from access for an ambulance and treatment for heat stroke. And it was good to get back to replenish our precious bodily fluids, and enjoy a bit of cooling curry and rice.

Here are some brave (or foolish) souls gathering in the heat:

A couple of Snappy's shots from the walk:

Back in the shade, beside the baking cricket field:

Cash Converta's sunset shot. Aaaahh:

During the week Haughty attended a Dayboro Lions meeting, where a most impressive award was handed over for our performance in this year's Dayboro Beer Mile. It's one of the best-looking trophies we've ever seen (apart from the ones produced by Dumbell, of course!) We have a year to keep working on our drinking and running skills, guys - we have a reputation to keep up!
