Summiting in Keperra

Trail marking on the route to base camp had been partially washed away, but led directly to where the real climb began. Roping up at this point, we made a direct assault on the north face cliffs, summiting on the western shoulder of the Keperra Bushland. Walkers turned back at this point, while the runners donned crampons and knocked in pitons as they followed a further easterly arĂȘte. They descended by a route that featured precipitous grades on its upper sections and knee-deep mud holes on its lower ones. Lax snapped this picture of some local wildlife on the way home:

Meals at the Ferny Grove Sports Club were as scrumptious as usual (pic courtesy of Saucy Sous) and there were 25 of us to dinner:

Thanks to our hares for the run/walk and for organising the venue!

We celebrated Miss Behavin's Significant Birthday, and B&W and Trudi Fruti's anniversary. Drinks from the bar were too expensive for down, downs, so they'll have to wait....

With the easing of Covid-19 restrictions in Queensland, we decided that it was an appropriate time to return to a traditional format for meals and venues. N.B. Hares are urged not to feel impelled to offer a Gold Standard Cordon Bleu meal offering...snags and salad (or their equivalent in terms of ease of preparation) is the hash standard, folks! We know we have some outstanding cooks among us, but you don't have to use all your skills and spend the day cooking (unless you really want to.) And if you're a hare but really don't have the time to cater, we can do Potluck again at any time....

Hares Budgie and Miss Behavin' will be catering for next Sunday's Easter run/walk.
