The runners were incredulous as Le W*nk pointed out the way home from the final Hold check: "We're going where?!!?" But he would brook (get it?) no opposition. The route up the bed of Kedron Brook was a bit reminiscent of some the runs we did in Borneo. But as Payback said, Borneo didn't smell so bad....We noted a couple of live snakes, a dead pheasant coucal, lots of dead shopping trolleys and some fish with two heads. Luckily our hare had warned us to wear old shoes...he should also have warned us that our shoes would disintegrate en route.
The walkers completed a longish but much more staid excursion.
All this was followed up by some home made lasagna, salad and birthday cake. Happy birthday, Payback!
Next Sunday some of our number will be making fools of themselves on the pantomime stage, while a couple of others will be away in Tamworth for the festival. The run for those able to make it will be another village potluck one (we've had a couple of these recently - as we often do over the holiday season - but they're always enjoyable.)
And don't forget our annual celebration of all things Australian on the following (Oz Day) weekend. We'll be looking for costumes featuring blue singlets, beer bellies and bumcracks - and for some serious competition in the thong throwing and vegemite wrestling contests.
Finally, here's one for the kiddies:
Q. What has four legs and an arm?
A. A very happy Rottweiler.
