Race the Storm Home

It was a smaller group of brave yet dedicated Hashers who perhaps simply wrote off the new BOM website as 'FAKE NEWS' and met at John Scott Park.

As the Samford skies rapidly darkened the group set off and immediately turned left so as not to stray too far from shelter.  We all arrived back to the safety of the John Scott facilities in time to enjoy the sound and light show and the welcome sound of rain whilst re-hydrating.

Here are some photos taken by Snappy:

Again Potluck provided a magnificent feast.

And the AI perspective of the 'therapy dog'. Some would say how ironic that this one required some storm therapy from their Dad?

NOTE!!
Next Sundays run will move back to 5 pm (or 1700 hours) start

Picnic at Keperra

Many of the regular Hashers are enjoying what looks to be a great trip in Japan so it was a small but enthusiastic group that congregated at the Keperra Picnic Ground on this glorious Sunday afternoon. And a big welcome to our visiting Hasher 'Body Language' from Switzerland.

As we set off in an unmarked trail in a south westerly direction a few walkers commented how quiet the walk pre-brief was.  I wonder what was different this week?

The initial feeling of abandonment (so many hashers away) was quickly replaced with the joy of a shady and flat walk and some interesting avian activity.

Even this gate couldn't keep the hashers out. A few intrepid walkers even found a hill and a circuit and have the photo evidence.

Potluck yet again provided a spectacular meal and the Keperra Picnic Ground was quite a good venue for the post walk festivities.

Plenty of canine good will.

And of course the completely random AI section.

Next Sundays run will be back on home ground so some can attend the SPADEwerx production at the Samford Hall 6pm.

Back at the local

Fourteen hashers made it for the walk on Sunday starting at John Scott Park with the numbers swelling to sixteen as we retired to Samford Pub to rehydrate.  Many took advantage of $25 beer/wine and burger deals, almost 20th century prices?

Here are some photos taken by Snappy:

Someone is making trophies in Samford??

Not everyone could be bothered with the walking bit of the activity.

In the obligatory hash circle the quality of the jokes was surpassed only by the number (and length) of the jokes imparted.

And guess who now has too much time on their hands and is mucking around with AI edits?

And we wish our fellow Hashers well as they head off on their long-awaited trip.

Bunya hillclimb

There are plenty of hills in Bunya, and our hares picked some doozies for our route on Sunday. Some walkers had been forewarned and brought their walking poles, while the others (we presume) just hung onto one another. Certainly it was cooler among the trees than it would have been in the full sun, but conditions were dry, dry, dry....Certainly a good reason to thoroughly quench our thirst afterwards.

Here are some of Saucy Sous' images from the walk:

Runners - walking?

Back home, after quenching that thirst, we enjoyed some vast vats of pasta cooked using gratis council electricity from the James Drysdale Reserve shelter (gratis? well, not if you consider the rates we pay). Many thanks to our hares for a well-marked trail and a great meal!
