The group this Sunday was amazed by Boxer and Saucy's back garden, and especially by their impressively large and productive orchard.
This was a real Garden of Eden, full of good things to eat. A number of members were reluctant to tear themselves away - and Haughty had to take on the role of the angel with a flaming sword to drive them out of the garden and onto the trail. Like Milton's Adam and Eve...
They, hand in hand, with wandering steps and slow,
Through Eden took their solitary way.
Actually it wasn't all that solitary - close to 30 people gathered back in the garden for some seriously tasty Malaysian food followed by some seriously tasty home-grown fruit. Among them we welcomed back from OS Charcoal, Strine and Banger (Make an Offer was still suffering some effects from the journey home.) It was good to see them again.
A couple who have been coming along for the last several weeks received their Hash monikers. One was a retired Instrument Fitter (which sounds like a pretty good Hash name in itself) as well as a paddle-boarder. However after due deliberation and consultation we resolved to call them Upstanding and Idle Vice, and commemorated the occasion with the usual quaint ceremony (no-one caught this on film, so we might have to re-stage it....)
Some returnees:
