Miss Demeanour had an eventful afternoon. Firstly, she missed the turnoff to Deep Water Bend (blaming Shock Jock). Secondly, as it was getting cold she tried to put on her hoody, but it ended up backwards. Thirdly, she got tangled up in some old fishing line that wouldn't let her go.
Some hadn't been to Deep Water Bend before and were quietly impressed. The trail meandered along the Pine River, through eucalypt and paperbark forests, past mangroves and salt marshes and included a visit to a bird hide. Along the way the runners came across large mobs of kangaroos with some impressive looking boomers.
As we sat down to eat and drink and do silly things, we were entertained by a spectacular sunset - ain't nature grand!
