Flatlanders

There was some concern that Sunday's Dayboro run would include an abundance of hills. Surprisingly, Banger had laid out a relatively flat trail. And to top it off, the rain didn't dampen our enthusiasm.

Back at the mansion, Make an Offer and Banger went all out and presented us with a sumptuous three course meal. Well done hares!

Leave Pass had a traumatic experience - he found himself stuck in the toilet. Knight in shining armour  (Banger) came to the rescue and released him from his internment.

Later, the hashers settled in and settled in further. It seemed that they wanted to party on, but did eventually go home.

Here are some photos taken by Saucy Sous and Cashconverta:

Mum's the word 2026

Many people have commitments other than Hash on the second Sunday of May, and we never expect huge numbers on Mothers' Day. This year saw twelve of us gather at our home ground base in John Scott Park for a gentle M. Promptu outing through the Royal Estates:

Potluck produced the usual feast, including some of the leftovers from Culture's Big Birthday Bash the night before (and it was a great night!). Gunter almost forgot his usual perfect manners when confronted with the tasty fare....

Here are a few highly atmospheric pictures, courtesy of Cash Converta:

Elsewhere in the world, Superhacker ran into a group of Brisbane hashers (including Jake the Peg) on a boat cruising the blue Danube! We look forward to seeing her later in the year.

And next week - a very flaaaat Dayboro excursion (really?).

Another black swan event

Ducks, pelicans and black swans crowded the waterways we passed this Sunday, and some of the swans let Cash Converta and Idle Vice get very close and personal:

It was a smashing afternoon for a run and walk through the burbs and along river- and lake-sides, and the many dogs enjoyed themselves immensely, despite being restrained from chasing the wildlife. They also enjoyed a refreshing little historical re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings in the back yard after we got back.

It was good to see Streaky again for the first time in a while, and good to meet Close Encounters of the Turd Kind, visiting from Washington DC. His home kennel is the Every Day is Wednesday Hash, and they run on Thursdays (of course).

Back home at the hares' we enjoyed some great pasta and salad, followed by ice-cream! Many thanks to Budgie and Miss Behavin'! Since this was our May Day run, we also raised our voices (and our fists) to the stirring strains of The Red Flag! This song is now 137 years old - happy birthday to it. And happy birthday to anyone else celebrating this week!
