Those involved with organising the Samford "Jazz and Shiraz" event didn't make it to this week's Tour de Village, preferring to lounge lazily on the lawn. Those who did walk/run enjoyed a bit of a musical taster as well, as M. Promptu led them past the venue. Tinkerbell enjoyed his earful so much that he completed the circuit twice. Potluck (as usual) provided a varied and sumptuous feast. No down, downs for the short-cutters this week - there were so many of them we would have run out of alcohol....
There were some dazzling new shoes on display, being broken in for the Camino de Santiago in a week or two. What a blinding sight! They missed out on a baptism, and I'm not sure why....
Haughty and Culture completed the Bridge to Brisbane on Sunday morning. Due to a glitch in his registration, Haughty shone as the Number 1 Female in his age group. Good thing they don't go in for sex testing...though you'd think the beard might have given his secret away anyway.
And speaking of beards, it's time to celebrate our Father of the Year again this coming Sunday. As we always say, not everyone addressed as "Father" or capable of fatherly behaviour is a biological father, so we cast the net wide. The capacity to tell "Dad Jokes" is an important criterion - bring your best ones along on Sunday.
You'll find some memories of previous Fathers' Day runs here and here and here.
Finally, please bring a chair!
