Campus capers

At a time when AI agents are in the news for their ability to hack into secure systems, it's worth recalling the story of how Superhacker earned her Hash name. She (it is said) once gave a live demonstration during a lecture that showed her students how to breach the firewalls of the UQ administration system. Some humans, it seems, are just as good as AI agents at nefarious activities...and presumably those students who really needed to get into the system to alter their failing grades were either absent or not paying attention...(?)

Anyway, it was great to see her again and catch up over the weekend. Due to her packed program during her time in the Antipodes, our annual UQ Jacaranda run had to be scheduled a little earlier than usual and the trees were not putting on their full photogenic display - but it was still a very pleasant afternoon for a traditional toddle along the river and trot around the cloisters of the Great Court.

The runners headed across the green bridge, pausing in the middle for a selfie

and then met up with some walkers for a group shot under a tree just breaking into flower:

The night before had seen a number of hashers frock up for a formal Hash soiree (ahem) where they enjoyed some delicious nosh, a fun game provided by Miss Demeanour, some stories of the dramas that play out beneath Superhacker's kitchen window, and, yes, a drink or two. It was a very pleasant evening...and those who missed it had a second chance to enjoy the leftovers on Sunday.
