It was champers all round as Culture helped the winner Escargot into the formidable foundation-wear:
And here's a podium shot worthy of a Grand Prix, Tour de France or Miss World win:
A model Mother Superior - well, done, Escargot!
Le W*nk had set a run/walk that gave us a really good insight into how Kedron Brook had behaved in last weekend's flash flood - it must have been a terrific sight! He followed this up with some of his usual gourmet tucker. Many thanks!
And now here's a bit of news from our wandering hashers, Charcoal and Strine:
Our two weeks plus in Italy were spent living in hilltop towns - in San Colette Monastery in the old part of Assisi and then in a 'villa' outside San Gimigniano, where we spent a week two years ago. This gave us the chance to investigate both of these towns and many the smaller hilltop towns in the surrounding areas such as Cortona and Orvietto from Assisi and Monterigioni, Colle di Val d'Elsa, Lucca and...the smaller places around where we stayed in San Gim. Monterigionni was a really interesting place....There are really only two streets, an interesting square surrounded by cafes and restaurants and a pilgrim church.
We then drove nearly one thousand km north to Vienna, staying overnight in another country B and B.
In our time staying in the Vienna Woods , about 25 km out of the old town, we made day trips down to the wineries near the Hungarian border, of course bringing some supplies back with us and to Kahlenberg Heights for some views down to the extensive town and suburbs and down to Kloster Neuburg for a wander around and then to have lunch [in]... the great restaurant down in the cellars....On Sunday went into town to go to a Piano Recital by Dan Barenboim. For a change he was the soloist and not the conductor. In the afternoon we went into the old town and through Mozart's House.
