Land of lakes

A well-marked trail took us past some neat and trim Federation-style mansions; and then led us on a circular (sort of) route around the four Murrumba Downs lakes. For those who like it flat, this was just perfect. The runners added a short loop down to the quiet waters of the North Pine, where those dangling a line in the water were catching the usual number of fish, which is not many....

Back at the hares' we indulged in some steakette sandwiches, and got through the usual quantities of fizz and beer. Shockjock and Miss Demeanour had just arrived back from Tassie and were full of travelers' tales, while others were preparing to leave for there and other far-flung bits of the wide brown land. We celebrated Payback's birthday with sparklers (being very, very careful with them), cake, ice-cream, and a birthday down, down. Many, many thanks to our hares, Miss Behavin' and Budgie!
