Water, water everywhere

As the old song has it, "April showers may come your way" - and they certainly have kept coming. It's been a wet year so far. And if anyone had any doubts about the naming of the Boondall wetlands, these should have been dispelled on Sunday.

It was certainly wet underfoot...but the watery views, the waterbirds, the waterlilies, and the rainbows were all very pretty and inspired many Hash photographers. It was also very interesting to inspect some infrastructure left over from the Brisbane Commonwealth Games - namely the BMX track. We assume that the planners of the 2032 Olympics have been taking some hints...who needs to spend billions on facilities?

And Banger shared this sign with his family and friends in the UK, under the heading "Only in Australia":

Our hares Shockjock and Miss Demeanour had found a beaut spot for the on, on - close to the snaky toilets and right on edge on the edge of the water, where we were attended by a ring of hopeful turtles as we tucked into chili and chocolates. Many, many thanks to our hares!

According to Cash Converta, the man responsible for closing the gates was supposed to come round at sunset and "flash" us. He didn't arrive (no doubt to the disappointment of many of the ladies) but the mossies did as we packed up....

As noted above, the scenery inspired many photographers - too many for us to keep track of. Thanks to Cash Converta, Idle Vice, Banger, Redbreast, and anyone else we've forgotten:

Le W*nk has promised to set up an Easter Egg hunt in the park for next Sunday!
