until Samford Hash's 1000th run! What a significant event! We're expecting some founding members, some early members, and a few visitors as well. A number are planning to make quite a night of it, and to stay the night as well....
Run 999 was an intricately complex event around the Boondall area, starting and ending at Hardcore's new house. She'd begun the day by running the Doomben 10 km event in 44 minutes, had then set the run, and then ran it again - she certainly lives up to her name! Thanks to her and to the nosh-suppliers Bigtop and Urass.
We welcomed Groundsheet and her young companions as visitors. Elvis and Lola turned up again as well - we'll make hashers of them yet - and we celebrated the latter's birthday with a very nice chocky cake.
In honour of the poodles here's another poodle story:
A couple goes to spend the evening with some friends. In the family room the two children are watching a movie along with the family poodle (who's coincidentally called Lola).
They can't help noticing that every time the children laugh at the movie Lola makes a laughing noise as well, and when they start to sniffle at the sad bits the poodle howls.
Eventually one of the visitors remarks, "Your poodle really seems to be enjoying that movie!"
"Yes," says Lola's owner. "I can't think why. She hated the book."
