How green was my valley

As a special treat for the walkers (or should that be the runners?) Le W*nk decided to walk rather than run this Sunday. He was exhausted after a sentimental trip back to Fiji and the sites we'd visited during the 2018 Interhash; and the stress of downsizing from a house in Mitchie to two rooms in Albany Creek had taken its toll as well. He's promised to be back running next week.

Our home turf in the Samford valley was looking incredibly green as well as muddy after a very wet week or two. The walkers completed their usual scenic circuit, while the runners explored the new development that's opened up on the flanks of House Mountain. Their judgement: the views are certainly expansive, but building on some of the sites on offer would be somewhat challenging.

As usual, Potluck provided an incredibly substantial, varied and tasty banquet. We are indeed lucky to have so many talented cooks in our number. Thanks to all for their contributions!

Here are some shots from the occasion, courtesy of Snappy, Banger and Cash Converta.

Round and round

This week's run report once more comes to you courtesy of Payback. Thanks to him!

"Our trail on Sunday started off with some steep hills and led us into various Bunya playgrounds. One particular piece of equipment that fascinated the runners was the merry-go-round (some refer to this as a roundabout or carousel). Anyway, after their dizzying experience the runners set off to continue their loop. On the way home they came across Snappy and her friend Naho who were admiring a local fruit tree, which no one could identify. So Snappy decided to taste the fruit. The others were really concerned that she might end up having violent convulsions but were relieved when she remained upright.

During the on, on Shockjock delighted us with three of his home brews and to top it off gave us a lecture on how he made his own coffee from scratch. After our lesson, we were treated to loaded potatoes with the trimmings. Thanks to Shockjock and Miss Demeanour for a lovely meal.

One more thing, congratulations to Miss Demeanour and Streaky who were the only walkers to complete the trail. Shame on the rest!"

Upper Kedron kanter

This week's run report comes to you courtesy of Payback - thanks to him!

"It was a small turnout at Upper Kedron on Sunday but numbers were bolstered by visiting hashers Radar and Bedpan. As usual, we left from Parksedge Street and trekked towards Bellbird Grove. It was a pleasant trail and the runners took it easy, as Haughty was not there to push them. Afterwards, we retired to the Honeyeater Street Park where Leave Pass plied us with various pizzas and salads. Thanks to Leave Pass for taking care of our culinary needs. Our beer meister, Upstanding, deserves another thank-you for his ongoing provision of tasty beers. He has a special treat for us at the Christmas party."

Here are some of  Radar's pictures from the walk:

We look forward to catching up again with Radar and Bedpan at the Red Dress Run....
