Hash smash!

(Try saying that quickly!)

It's Father's Day this Sunday, and Shockjock, Miss Demeanour and Co. are inviting us to celebrate by smashing some balls - across a table.  Bring $5 for the hire of the table tennis facilities - we'll have an hour of smashing play after the run and before our normal Father's Day shindig.

A weekend of smashing Hash activities this last weekend kicked off when Haughty arrived home on Friday evening to find a surprise birthday party awaiting him.  He was genuinely gobsmacked... what a great night!  Thanks to all who contributed, and congratulations for keeping stumm!

This was followed up on Saturday when Shockjock led five members out onto the bush trails for our inaugural bike hash.  Some (like B & W) were experienced mountain bikers, others absolute novices (they were the ones with white faces and clenched teeth.)  We had one minor smash at the bottom of a steep hill, but fortunately no bones - or bikes - were broken.  It was good fun, and we'll do it again (note the leader in the yellow jersey.).

On Sunday Superhacker and Hopalong set a cunning run that took us across the water to lower the tone of the leafy and pricey residences that overlook the river at West End and Dutton Park.  A trot across the Green Bridge brought us back to UQ, where the runners toured the campus while the walkers caught another ferry home...thanks, hares!

Next run details
When: Sunday 2nd September, 4 pm
Where: Corner Hulcombe Road and Harold McDonald Place, Highvale
Hares: Shockjock, Miss Demeanour and Co.

Remember to bring $5 towards the hire of the place...and if you need directions to this run, please email us.

On, on!
