Summertime

It's that time of year again when the livin' is easy, when Red Dress runners pound or shuffle along the city streets, and when we're putting together our outfits for the Hash Christmas party. As we say each December - where, oh where, did the year go?

Are we not lucky to have - in the midst of our crew of excellent cooks - a professional chef? Saucy Sous' talents were on full display on Sunday in a three-course meal that would have blown the diets of many of us out of the water:

 

 

A highly sophisticated first course was followed up by plethora of main course dishes, and a massive fruit salad...yum! This was all preceded by a very pleasant run and walk though the green undulations of Highvale. Many thanks to our hares, Saucy Sous and Dumbbell!

Monday saw fifteen - fifteen! - of us taking part in the Red Dress Run (and walk) from the Ship Inn in Southbank. The routes - taking us on both sides of the river and past plenty of bemused diners -  were well marked and intricate. Here's the runners' one, as recorded by Banger:

And as hare Tinkerbell remarked to the runners paused at the Cultural Centre to look over the river "Who'd want to live anywhere but Brisbane?". The views over the water were certainly spectacular, and the temperature was very pleasant.

We're looking forward to our Hash Christmas party on Saturday - should be a wonderful night, for us anyway. Don't know about the neighbours....PLEASE BRING CHAIRS!
