It's 110 years since the ANZAC landings but the tradition of celebrating a brave defeat is going strong. What would the original ANZACS have made of the refurbished Gaythorne RSL? It's almost certainly the flashest venue we gather at during the course of a year, and the meals are a far cry from bully beef eaten out of tins while sheltering from sniper fire....
Our hares took the hash out past Brookside and along Kedron Brook, on a scenic route that some were not aware existed. The runners (at least according to Le W*nk) managed to find a lot of steep hills to climb along the way - but perhaps he was just a bit delusional at that point? We returned to take over a whole corner of the restaurant on a busy night, and the offerings were plentiful and tasty, if sometimes a little slow in arriving. Many thanks to our hares Upstanding and Idle Vice for setting the trail and organising the venue!
