Lax and Prattle set the walk and by all accounts did a great job. We also have to thank Lax for the salad that accompanied the snags the runners picked up en route back to Teralba Park. A first-time visiting walker joined us as well as a couple of young canines on their first Hash outing. Here's the cheery group before pitch darkness descended:
Le W*nk and Lax will be among the group attending the Samford Charity Night in a month's time. Last year he was successful in his bidding for a Parliament House dinner; this year he offered to auction off a baby as his contribution to the occasion - if he is able to secure one....Queensland Police please note - this is the man to look out for:
Down, downs were awarded to virgin hashers (including canines), to Le W*nk for the run, and to new-shoe-wearers. And, as usual, there was plenty of rubbish spoken - and a bit of bawdy. Here's some justification for it, from Boswell's Life of Johnson:
Boswell: "Why...meet at table?" Johnson: "Why, to eat and drink together, and to promote kindness; and, Sir, this is better done when there is no solid conversation; for when there is, people differ in opinion, and get into bad humour....It was for this reason, Sir Robert Walpole said, he always talked bawdy at his table, because in that all could join."Many thanks to our hares!
