Another Potluck Potter

We were back on home turf this Sunday in the heart of the village. The walkers headed off around the familiar Samford circuit, while the hobbling "runners" carried their various injuries off in another direction, pausing on the way home to inspect the (lack of) progress on the new Samford hostelry.

Back at the Farmers' Hall, Potluck (as usual) produced a lavish and varied feast. We are really fortunate to have so many great many cooks among us. And we all eat too much on these occasions. Thanks to all for your culinary contributions!

And thanks to Cash Converta for these pics:

Another big birthday

It was Trudi Fruti's turn to join the half-centenarians among us this Sunday, and she did it in style, with a magnificent meal and plenty of fizz!

Drizzly and cool conditions up on the mountain didn't deter the brave and foolish who headed out after B&W down a steep and rather soggy track. A number of others, however, elected to take up Swami Miss Demeanour's offer of a hot yoga session around the fire. The wet expeditioners then joined the dry homebodies in the comfortable indoors for some very succulent wagyu brisket and a varied selection of salads - yum! Many thanks to our hares for their hospitality and the luscious nosh!

Yoga (and CPR):

Birthday cake followed, and a birthday down, down in a rather large glass:

Hill climbing

Live hare Shockjock, took great delight in laying a trail to include a multitude of steep hills. As a result, there were many red faces and lynching suggestions at the finish. However. all was forgiven after the lynching party took a cooling dip in the pool.

We were even more placated by the Asian inspired food provided by Shockjock and Missdemeanour. Well done!

There's gold in them thar hills

Or there used to be. Wonder if it's worthwhile looking at reopening some of the Upper Kedron mines, in view of the recent gold prices? Perhaps not.

Anyway, we did the usual trek over the freshly mown open field and up to Bellbird Grove. The runners went beyond this to the old gold mines.

Prior to the mad rush for the food, Racey gave us a Maori welcome which was touching. Thanks for your efforts Racey and Leave Pass.

Meanwhile in South Africa, Haughty went off to a park run but found it cancelled due to an outbreak of foot and mouth disease. So now, he has no choice but to negotiate the treacherous footpaths.
